Undoubtedly, the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge is one of the most rewarding challenges in the UK. You will tackle the 3 highest peaks in Yorkshire:
Pen-y-Ghent
Whernside
Ingleborough
Passion for the peaks means that NY3P cannot deliver their challenges without their ethically conscious hats on. They do everything in their power to make sure that the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and its local residents benefit only from their presence.
Switching Up Starting Points. Minimal erosion means the peaks will stick around! Starting or finishing in local pubs yields two benefits: celebratory beers and a boost to local landlord’s profits!
Sensible Start Times. Challenges start post 8am to ensure minimal disruption to those cosy hours.
Considering The Neighbours. Conscious control of everything from noise, to ensuring we leave no evidence of our visit behind. It’ll be like we weren’t even there!
Crowd Control. We restrict our group numbers to ensure minimal impact on both park and people.
Local Links. We will link up with local businesses when we are in the area, ensuring they benefit from our presence in the peaks.
One Challenge For Many Charities. We share our profits with charity partners as well as holding open challenges where participants can raise money for charity.
The walking will commence at 7am. The ascents of Pen y Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough will be tackled. Then the final descent to Horton-in-Ribblesdale will be made. At the end of the day, you can look forward to an evening meal and celebratory drinks as a treat for all your hard work.
