NY3P guide to the best accommodation options around the Yorkshire Dales

Most individuals and groups completing the NY3P challenge may not be local to Yorkshire. In fact, many people travel a considerable distance to get here. And with groups ranging from individuals to couples and perhaps even large groups, it is essential to choose accommodation that works for your party and is conveniently located. In our latest post, we mention three great accommodation options close to the starting points of the NY3P challenge. Hopefully this will take some of the hassle away from searching for the perfect place to stay.

The Buck Inn, Malham

A traditional, family run pub and B&B in Malham village this B&B was built on the site of an old coaching Inn, dating back to 1874. Featuring 10 en-suite rooms, you are always guaranteed a warm reception. Furthermore, the A65 is relatively close by, along with a number of other attractions such as Malham Cove, Foss and Gordale Scar. Skipton, a historic market town, is also in easy reach.

There are a number of different room types available. All featuring breakfast in the morning, free WiFi, towels, hairdryer, TV, toiletries and tea and coffee making facilities. Choose from a single, twin or double room. Moreover, if you are a dog owner, you can bring your dog along for a small extra charge too!

Beechtree Cottages, Ingleton

A selection of 6 self-catered cottages accommodating up to 7 night stays. Key features include an open plan lounge with log burner, fully equipped kitchen/diner with appliances and utensils, separate downstairs toilet and sandstone gated enclosed veranda with garden furniture. Furthermore, the cottages also benefit from a wide screen TV, CD and DVD player. As well as handy off road parking and free WiFi. As an added extra, guests also benefit from full access to the managers office featuring a range of books and leaflets on local attractions as well as information on local walks and walking maps.

There are a number of attractions close by, including Waterfalls Park and White Scar Show Caves. Not to mention a plethora of walks boasting stunning scenery. Awarded 4 stars by the Yorkshire Tourist Board and also holding a gold award, this is certainly a high standard of accommodation for anyone wanting to complete the NY3P challenge.

Gauber Bunk Barn & Den, Ribblehead

For larger groups completing the North Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge, Gauber Bunk Barn & Den in Ribblehead could be the ideal choice. It can accommodate up to 12 people over three rooms. Originating as far back as the 1700s, it was originally a Quaker Barn. After undergoing restoration it still retains historic features but now has a new contemporary twist. It is conveniently located on the route descenting Pen y Ghent and is only a short drive away from Ingleton, Ribblehead Viaduct and White Scar Caves.

The main features include three bedrooms with bed linen and towels included. Also included with the price is a kitchen diner. Along with a spacious living room with a wood burner and an ample garden with furniture and barbecue. The accommodation also features internet access. Moreover, a basic self service breakfast can be requested and dogs can be accommodated for prior to booking.
